I was making Italian meatballs the other night and decided on forming them into mini-burgers or “Sliders” instead. Very good choice!
- 2 pounds ground meat
- 5 ounces freshly shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg
- 16 dinner rolls
Throw everything into a large bowl and stick your hands in there and mix ‘er up.
Form these into large meatballs. I tried to make 16 but some of mine got bigger so only 14 here.
Now take each ball and squish it down to a patty.
Place these little patties on a broiler pan so that the fat falls to the pan below. Stick this into a preheated 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
I like a little mayonnaise on my bun and then some extra parmesan cheese on the meat. Maranara sauce would also be pretty awesome on this too.
