It starts off with ingredients that you can easily keep on hand.

Ingredients:

2 Granny Smith Apples

2 packages crescent rolls

2 sticks butter

1  1/2 Cups sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 can Mtn. Dew

Unroll crescent dough.

Separate the dough into their triangles.

The original recipe calls for peeled apples but I love the peel so I leave mine on.  Peel and slice up apples into 8 slices.

DSC_1355

Place one slice on each triangle.

DSC_1358

Roll the apple up in each piece of dough.

DSC_1360

Seal the apple up inside.

DSC_1363

Place all 16 apple rolls in a 9×13 baking dish.

Melt butter and add sugar and cinnamon.

DSC_1375

Mix it up.

Pour this over the top of the apple rolls.

Now for the..”what the heck?”.  Open up a can of Mtn. Dew.

DSC_1387

Pour this BETWEEN the rolls.  I know looks strange but you will not regret it.

Pop this into a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

And ..Pow. Bang.  Smash.  Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you day just got a bit better.
