Sauteed Green Beans


2 bags frozen fine string beans (I am most partial to Aldi’s brand, they are great.)

1/2 stick butter

a little splash of olive oil

small onion

2-3 cloves garlic

salt and pepper

Chop up an onion and 2-3 cloves of garlic.

In a large skillet melt the butter and splash of olive oil.  The olive oil helps keep the butter from burning.

Add onion and cook that until it is beginning to wilt and turn clear.

Add the garlic and stir this around.

Add your frozen green beans to this and allow it to just sit there a few minutes while the bottom layer of green beans begins to heat.

Give it a few minutes to cook then start tossing the green beans so the top layers get down to the bottom.  At this time add salt and pepper to your liking.

Once all the green beans have been heated through, you are ready to dive in or in my case start taking some off the top while they are still cooking.
