Reuben Sandwiches

The Reuben Sandwich……there is not much to say about it except you will either love it or hate it.


Rye Bread

Corned Beef (2 medium slices or 4 thin slices per sandwich)

Swiss Cheese (2 slices per sandwich)



Thousand Island Dressing

Empty the can of sauerkraut into a small pot and heat over low heat until ready to use.

Brown one side of your rye bread in a couple of tablespoons of butter.  Flip the bread so that the other side can begin to brown.

While the second side is browning, add a slice of corned beef to each piece of bread.

Add a slice of swiss cheese to the corned beef.

Allow this to heat until the underside of the bread is browned.

Now I have to make 6 of these to feed my family, so I will lay these halves out on a cookie sheet and stick it in a 200 degree oven to just keep it warm while I finish the other sandwiches.

With a fork, pile a good sized portion of the sauerkraut onto one side of the sandwich.

Pour some Thousand Island Dressing over the sauerkraut.. use what you like, I like a good portion cause I do like it in each bite.

Enjoy!  This is a messy eating experience but every bite is heaven!
