The sand, the water, the close-ups (cause I just gotta have ’em)

When I was young and would come to this beach, there were sand dunes that were like mountains.  Way back then, we were allowed to climb the dunes and slide down them and race around them and tunnel through them  or whatever our hearts desired.  That is all gone now.  Back in the late ’90s, Hurricane Opal came through and leveled these beaches and they turned into a whole new scene.  Over the years, they have tried to pile the sand up to make that natural barrier of the dunes but it has never worked and now there are signs all over telling us to stay off the “dunes” which are these little ant piles compared to what they were.  I miss the dunes.

Until next summer….  T
