Monkey Bread

Another recipe I first tasted when I met Luke’s family.  Easy and so very gooey good!

3 cans buttermilk biscuits (not flaky ones)

1 Cup sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 sticks butter

1/2 Cup brown sugar

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Just 5 ingredients!!!

Open up your biscuits and cut each one into quarters.

In a large ziplock bag, combine sugar and cinnamon and shake them gently together to mix.

Drop all your biscuit pieces into your sugar bag and seal.

Shake the bag until every piece is covered in the cinnamon/sugar mix.  I had to open my bag once and pull apart a few pieces that wanted to stay together.  “Not in this recipe you don’t.”

In a small saucepan, heat 2 sticks of butter and 1/2 Cup brown sugar.

Here the butter has melted but the brown sugar isn’t incoorporated yet.  Keep stirring and cooking.

Ahhh, now they are together the way they were meant to be.

Get a bundt pan and lay out the biscuit pieces evenly.

Pour the brown sugar/butter mixture over the top so they are swimming in it.

Now stick your bundt pan in the 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until they are a deep brown color.

Ahhh, almost there!  Now is the hardest part.  Let this sit for 30 minutes so that it will just slide right out of your pan.  If you can’t wait to have a taste, just grab one piece off the top and then let it sit.

Wow a little too much light in this picture but you see when it is flipped, all the buttery, caramelly goo just slides down the sides.
